'Nine Miles Below' is the first cut from The Third Sound's upcoming full length 'All Tomorrow's Shadows'

Icelandic singer-songwriter Hákon Aðalsteinsson is back with another helping of his solo project, The Third Sound. Hákon, formerly of Singapore Sling and currently of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, is now based out of Berlin and with a full live band now in tow, has released the lo-fi video for ‘Nine Miles Below’ – a brilliant slice of jangly post-punk noir.

Like what you hear? The Third Sound are currently gearing up for the release of their fourth album ‘All Tomorrow’s Shadows’, which is set to be released on May 11th and can be pre-ordered from our store now.

‘All Tomorrow’s Shadows’, recorded over the harsh Berlin winter, offers an expansive exploration into krautrock-tainted post-punk and dark 60s-esque psychedelia. It’s The Third Sound at their most refined yet, taking a much more sparse and rhythmic approach than we’ve seen before, combining hypnotic guitar drones, motorik rhythms and haunting vocals. The last track features guest Anton Newcombe, who back in 2011 released their debut album on his own label, A Recordings.

Since then the band have been consistently releasing, with
‘The Third Sound of Destruction and Creation’ (2013) and ‘Gospels of Degeneration’ (2016) all the while performing live with likes of BJM, The Warlocks, Singapore Sling, Crocodiles, Clinic and many, many more.
