Ahead of their UK tour kicking off at Test Pressing on April 27th, check out the latest video to be released from the band’s session.

Next week the mighty A Place To Bury Strangers will be back on UK shores for a small run of dates kicking off at London’s Test Pressing Festival with Moon Duo, our own The Underground Youth, Bo Ningen, Warmduscher and a bunch of other killer names. With that in mind we thought now would be a good time to share another video from their insane Fuzz Club Session that they recorded with us last time they were in town. You can watch them storm through ‘Never Coming Back’ from their latest LP, Pinned, below.

The video captures all the best parts of APTBS’ abrasive sonic formula, even if it is the most restrained cut on the session – well, by their standards anyway. It’s the bass and drums that take centre-stage on this one: Dion’s scuzzy repetitive bassline churns away, driving the song from start to finish alongside Lia’s primal percussion. The song slowly building up and waiting for Ollie to burst through with his twisted, screeching guitar which, naturally, never takes too long. At one point he stops to start pounding away at a floor tom to his side, before taking the drumstick and taking slide guitar to a different level, dragging it across his strings to typically noisy effect. You do have to feel for his guitars sometimes, it can’t be an easy ride but I suppose you’d expect nothing else at this point.

Some of the songs on APTBS’ Fuzz Club Session – out now exclusively on vinyl – may date back over a decade but, true to the APTBS way, they’re totally reconfigured and pushed to their very limits in this live setting. Spanning the band’s lengthy back-catalogue, there are two tracks from Pinned, one from 2015’s Transfixiation, one from 2012’s Onwards To The Wall, another from their 2007 S/T album and a previously unreleased track.

Recorded live in one take, it perfectly captures the relentless power and energy of the band’s notorious live show in all it’s deafening glory. As for the videos, they even brought their arsenal of strobes, projectors and smoke machines along to the studio too so it looks the part as well.
