Having spent the last couple of years touring around Europe off the back of their self-titled debut and 2018’s XVII, in November last year Swedish post-punks NONN flew over to South Africa to perform at Endless Daze – a two-day held on the coast just outside of Cape Town that’s hosted by the Psych Night collective founded, amongst others, by Andre Leo of Medicine Boy.

Performing in the early hours of the morning, the Stockholm-based trio bought their industrial post-punk/darkwave to typically hypnotic and intense effect. With Psych Night having now announced the bands for this year’s festival – you can now watch the band storm through ‘Clear’ at Endless Daze last year.

Taken from XVII, ‘Clear’ is a perfect insight into the new sound introduced on the band’s latest record; that minimalist template still there but bolstered by pulsing electronics and a push into more industrial territory. And nowhere do NONN do that better than in their floor- shaking live show, as the video of them playing the track at Endless Daze shows. Their throbbing repetitive bass-lines and mechanical drum-machine beats delivered with an even greater intensity, paired against shimmering 80s guitars and the echo-soaked, almost-hushed vocals of Christian Eldefors.

You can buy NONN’s self-titled debut and XVII on vinyl below.

On November 1st-3rd Endless Daze will returns with a line-up that includes Fuzz Club recruits The Gluts and Medicine Boy, as well as the likes of Night Beats, Follakzoid and Yak.

Nonn will be hitting the road in November:

Nov 7. Lyon / Le Farmer
Nov 8. Toulouse / Le Rex
Nov 9. Bordeaux / Void
