Always Then was originally written and recorded in 2011 by The KVB's Nicholas Wood on a Fostex tape machine. Later that year, Kat Day joined Wood to form The KVB as a duo.
The album was subsequently released in 2012 on Glasgow-based label Clan Destine Records across multiple limited-edition vinyl pressings, all of which sold out. This 2024 repress uses the original album masters and features updated artwork.
