London-based trio Black Doldrums have announced their second album ‘In Limerence’. They are also dropping the first preview in the shape of new single ‘Hideaway’, out everywhere today alongside a music video. 'In Limerence' is out October 18th, and you can pre-order the LP on limited coloured vinyl and CD here
The follow-up to their 2022 debut album 'Dead Awake' stays true to the band's spirit whilst pushing things forward in a way that feels timeless and more meaningful, and brings with it a newfound clarity and lyrical honesty. Delving into themes of regret, loneliness, confusion and obsession, it's little wonder that the album title is 'In Limerence' – a state of intense, all-consuming romantic longing.
The band (comprised of founding members Kevin Goddard [guitar/vocals] and Sophie Landers [drums] alongside new bassist Daniel Armstrong) says of the new album: "There is a constant theme of trying to find happiness in a confusing modern world. In a time of protest, this album is itself a protest by expressing how to feel in such a world."
In support of 'In Limerence', Black Doldrums will hit the road for a UK tour in November (including an album release show at London's Moth Club on Nov 1st) as well as more March 2025 European dates announced today. You can also catch them on The Fuzz Club stage ( The Bread Shed) at Manchester Psych Fest next weekend!
