Austin/Glasgow spacegazers SKLOSS announce new album 'DIALECTS', which finds their debut LP 'The Pattern Speaks' remixed in full. The album will be released digitally on Nov 6th and on limited cassette with a t-shirt bundle also available – pre-order in the Fuzz Club UK/EU store and stream the first preview here
The duo of Sandy Carson and Karen Skloss say of the new 'DIALECTS' project: "The Pattern Speaks is remixed, reworked, and cosmically reimagined by an ecosystem of old pals and big tinkerers from Scotland to Texas and Sweden to California. This collaboration of turning our debut album on its head has been brewing in the cauldron for some time and we’re so proud to share. The Patterns Speak, the shapes shift, the tones bend, stripped down to form dialects and conversations in ways we could never have imagined."
Out today is a remix of the studio album's title-track by David Jack, who Sandy previously played with in Iglomat: “It was a no brainer and to have the Swiss army knife multi instruMentalist/producer that is David Jack – AKA Edinburgh’s DJ Shadow – have his way with one of our tunes. He’s been one of our long time collaborators in our previous bands and with our films. We’re so chuffed that the Iglomatman has sprinkled his magic on The Pattern Speaks remix. He even made us sound like a real rock band!”
David Jack (@iglomatman) says: "The music I’ve made with Sandy in the past in Iglomat has all been guitar-led instrumental stuff, so when SKLOSS asked if I would rework one of their songs I was keen to mess up something with loads of vocals. 'The Pattern Speaks' was my first choice cos the vocals are both lush (Karen) and noisy/obnoxious (Sandy), and I thought leading it with Fender Rhodes and a bass guitar would keep it sounding like a band rather than sticking a load of synths on there in traditional remix style!“
