Beans share new single 'My Room', the second single from incoming 'Less Louder' LP out Sep 11th
Beans release new single ‘My Room’. The Geelong/Melbourne garage-psych outfit fronted by The Murlocs drummer Matt Blach have dropped the second taste of their incoming ‘Less Louder’ LP, out September 11th. Listen now and pre-order the album on limited edition vinyl in the Fuzz Club UK/AUS/US stores here
On new single ‘My Room’, which arrives off the back of lead single ‘Resister’ last month, Blach says: “My Room is a track broadly about feeling content. The canvas toward the entire thing is for someone (myself at the time) to feel at ease. To know or feel true comfort. Chase things to make you feel grounded. Knowing to be happy to spend time at home alone and enjoy all the simple beauty to life. Happy to not feel as if there is something missing. To be able to channel and manage their own thoughts without over thinking them, putting ones mind at ease with a ‘ciggie and a cup of tea’”
Written and recorded around the time as its predecessor, 2024’s ‘Boots N Cats’, ‘Less Louder’ is that album’s more mellow and laid-back counterpart – a blissed-out, harmony-driven record firmly in the “Sunday Afternoon” category, as Blach puts it. Drifting through psychedelic pop, surf and doo-wop influences, ‘Less Louder’ is all breezy, deeply-infectious melody and hazy jangle – foregrounding softer, more acoustic production, more piano and Rhodes, and dialling down the distortion and the wig-out lysergic grooves you might expect from a Beans record.
The limited edition splatter version is limited to 500 hand-numbered copies and exclusive to the Fuzz Club stores and Sound Merch
