Black Market Karma share 'Sound Of Repetition', the third and final single from incoming 'Mellowmaker' LP, out June 6th
Dover-based band Black Market Karma are today releasing the new single and video ‘Sound Of Repetition. A slice of woozy “cassette-ified” lo-fi psychedelia, it’s the third and final single from the incoming ‘Mellowmaker’ LP out June 6th. Watch the video and pre-order the limited edition album here
Arriving following the title track and recent ‘Adoration’ single, Belton says of ‘Sound Of Repetition’: “This is a song about finding yourself subject to brain fog and cyclical mundanity. When the previously blindingly bright becomes a continuous negative loop. Should you make a change or is the seemingly abundant opportunity just a mirage? Is the grass greener? Maybe you just need a shift in perspective. The recording features crunched out drums, originally performed live and then re-amped and sampled. 2 bass guitars, one deep and high. Think ‘Walk On The Wild Side’ but with more melancholia and a tub of reverse delay. It also boasts several mellotron string and harp samples as a bed for the lo-fi tapey guitars.”
