Floral Image share new single 'The Score', the second from incoming debut album 'Gone Down Meadowland'
Norwich psych cadets Floral Image are sharing new single 'The Score', the second to be lifted from their incoming debut album ‘Gone Down Meadowland’ out April 25th. Pre-order on limited LP/CD here
“The Score appeared scarily fully formed in a dream whilst barely sleeping in the Birmingham Central Travelodge after a gig we played there. Instantly upon waking at 7am I scuttled past the bodies on the floor to flesh it out as a song in the front seat of our tour van on the 12-string guitar. God bless the subconscious…this time,” explains vocalist and guitarist Fergus Nolan.
The single arrives alongside an amazing animated video by the band's own Phil Whitton & M.Forsyth: ""The Score' is a song that seems to flow and drift along like a river. It seemed to gently request that we take this particular visual journey through a more natural environment and away from the digital nightmare of 'Burning 305'. This animated video draws more from an analogue pool of inspiration. It is a love letter to more humble mediums, in which the hand of the maker can be seen in each cell of animation. It is homage to animation from Ghibli to more obscure Eastern European shorts."
Floral Image have also announced a UK/EU album tour kicking off in April, including a stop at the Fuzz Club Festival in Eindhoven on May 9/10th!
