Heavenly Bodes sign to Fuzz Club and release new single 'Faux Pillars' ahead of upcoming UK tour
Cornish garage-psych outfit The Heavenly Bodes have announced their signing to Fuzz Club with the release of new single ‘Faux Pillars’, out everywhere now alongside a video. The new track lands ahead of an upcoming Spring UK headline tour and is the first taste of a debut full-length set to be announced soon.
On ‘Faux Pillars’, Heavenly Bodes write: “Recorded in Eggland during an incessant Cornish heatwave, Faux Pillars evokes the clammy attic in which it came from. A hard hitting garage-psych number with persistent, twitching bass. Surf-esque licks dissolve into a hazy electric (prunes) organ, melting like the summer sun.”
The Heavenly Bodes emerged out of South Cornwall through chance meetings at kernowbeat (formerly kernow psych society) shows in Falmouth. Formed in 2023 through a collective love of all things pebbles and acid-garage, a slew of limb injuries put the brakes on proceedings until summer 2024.
Cutting their teeth with opening slots for NZ Flying Nun heavyweights The Chills as well as LA fuzz stalwart Charles Moothart & His Fast Band. The band have been writing and performing continuously, with headline shows for Bad Vibrations and Label Mates, and festival slots including Glasgow’s Freakender. The incoming new music arrives off the back of a string of single release and their debut EP, ‘A Shelf You Can Applaud At A Distance’, released in November last year and supported by BBC 6 Music and Radio X.
