Following the recent double single 'agony' and 'pressure/pleasure', 'dança (with Dame Area)' lands in the midst of ongoing European touring including a London headline show at The Dome (Downstairs) tomorrow. Bottling the raw power of their now-legendary live shows, 'BODY TRANSMISSION' marks a new phase in MAQUINA's trajectory. Centred on the energy of the dance-floor, it is a heavier, more direct, and more intense record than its predecessors – described by the band as “an album always in motion."

Out everywhere today, the new single and album opener 'dança' was one of the first tracks to emerge following their previous album 'PRATA'. Notably, its lyrics came before the music and were inspired by the Catalan duo Dame Area. Sending the track over to the duo as it began to take shape led to a collaboration with vocalist Silvia Konstance, whose contribution brought a new dimension and energy to the track. Setting up the heartbeat of the record, it's all relentlessly propulsive 4/4, feral shrieking, and a smoking guitar line that cuts through with searing focus.

Speaking on the track, MAQUINA. comment: "'dança' explores a moment of introspection: the importance of being with oneself, of making space for an intimate moment, even if through dance. When words fail, the body speaks. “I just want to dance” becomes a statement suspended between inward reflection and the need for release."
