Los Angeles power trio Primitive Ring share first single 'Rolling Greed' from incoming 7", available for pre-order now!
Welcoming Primitive Ring to the club! The Los Angeles power trio made up of Charles Moothart, Bert Hoover and Jon Modaff are back with new single ‘Rolling Greed’ – streaming everywhere now and available to pre-order on super limited splatter 7" (only 100 in the Fuzz Club US/UK stores!) here
Moothart (Fuzz, Gøggs, Ty Segall’s Freedom Band), Hoover (Hooveriii, Groop) and Modaff (Hooveriii, Groop, Frankie & The Witch Fingers) have been keeping the momentum rolling in every way they can since Primitive Ring first emerged in early 2025. Following a string of 45s this year on In The Red, Greenway Records and The Reverberation Appreciation Society, we’re stoked to be jumping on board the train with the fourth piece of the puzzle: ‘Rolling Greed / Cocaine Man’, out in full on September 12th.
The earlier Primitive Ring singles were written and recorded pretty much instantly in a shoot from the hip session on a Tascam 388 in Hoover’s garage, but these latest tracks were instead laid down over a few days in Moothart’s rehearsal space turned studio, after the band had begun playing live – the urgency and vision for the band much more palpably honed in as a result: “I think Rolling Greed is my favorite Primitive Ring song to date. It’s both more catchy and more wild than the previous tunes. We are all pushing ourselves a little harder on this track, while still trying to deliver a baseline bulletproof skull thumper.” (CM) For the LA heads, Primitive Ring will be celebrating the release of ‘Rolling Greed’ with a free entry release show at Zebulon on September 14th!
