Splitterzelle drop new video 'Resilience', the second single lifted from the their S/T debut LP coming Jan 17th 2025
Portuguese/German duo Splitterzelle have dropped ‘Resilience’, the second single to be lifted from their self-titled debut album out January 17th. Pre-order the limited coloured LP here
“Resilience was a track originally intended as a vocal track but turned into a delay driven nihilistic dub track. This is the first track we moved away from recording a full drum set. We started with a distorted 909, paired with a Korg 700s pattern and added layer by layer. Thematically, this song is about the trance-like state one experiences after prolonged exposure to adversities. In a way, it can be related to a long pilgrimage. As one keeps going and going, there’s a level of toughness that keeps growing as well, up to a point one can get a releasing and cleansing feeling which can be read as some kind of reward for not quitting. dwavehed did a great job in matching the vibe in this video.”
Departing from the hypnotic, loop-based space-rock jams of their earlier work, ‘Splitterzelle’ finds Pedro Pestana (10 000 Russos, Tren Go! Sound System) and Sidney Jaffe (Arcane Allies, Burnpilot, Parse, Ornamental) taking a much more produced approach driven primarily by drum machine and synths. Pounding sub-bass and dark electronic textures are at the forefront here, finding a middle ground between club-ready industrial techno heaviness and droning psychedelic noise.
