Tasmanian psych rock trio Spooky Eyes debut self-titled LP available in Fuzz Club stores now!
The ripping self-titled debut from Tasmanian psychedelic rock band Spooky Eyes is out on wax worldwide today. Now available for the first time in Europe and North America after a limited physical-only and soon sold out release in AUS earlier this year, you can grab your copy now on limited purple/green smoke or classic black vinyl in the Fuzz Club stores here
Self-written and recorded, with Eddy Current’s Mikey Young on mastering duties, their debut long-player 'SPOOKY EYES' commits the band’s monolithic live energy and sound to wax. This is six tracks and thirty minutes of raw and timeless rock’n’roll goodness – channeling howling acid rock riffs, heady psychedelia and proto-metal grit with a loose, jam-driven energy pulled straight from the late 60s/70s underground.
Kicking off in 2022 with the release of debut EP ‘Leaves’, what started as a solo project by frontman/guitarist Jude Hastings quickly evolved with the additions of Piper Rayner on bass and Jaxon Bassett on drums. The jangly chords and synths were soon swapped out for speaker-cranking riffs and a thumping rhythm section, and Spooky Eyes have been busy hitting stages across Australia and New Zealand ever since. Proving equally adept at tearing up sweat-soaked, divey back-rooms as they are dominating massive stages (recent heavy-hitters who have hand-picked the band for support include the likes of Jack White, Foo Fighters, Wolfmother and Jet)
Bunkering down between tours and gigging, Spooky Eyes’ self-titled debut landed in a heavy-riffin’ blaze at the start of 2026 with a physical-only release on Naarm/Melbourne label Nibson Mother Records (co-ran by O.R.B drummer John Zacharias, who Spooky Eyes recently toured with). With the first pressing soon flying out, the ‘SPOOKY EYES’ LP is now back on vinyl for those who weren’t so lucky the first time around and now including an international release through Fuzz Club. 2027 European dates are also in the works (including you know where), so get to know!
