Unschooling drop new track 'Ribbon Road' from incoming album 'New World Artifacts'

Unschooling are today dropping 'Ribbon Road' another track from their incoming debut album, ‘New World Artifacts’, out Oct 6 on the Bad Vibes label and available to pre-order here

Out everywhere now, Ribbon Road is another slice of discordant, lo-fi art-rock from the French five-piece.

Unschooling's Vincent Fevrier says of the track: "Ribbon Road is a curious, almost-jazzy piece led by two basses, two drums and guitars in unison with saxophones recorded in collaboration with Levi Gillis. It's a labyrinthine tribute to the famous Mario Kart course of the same name."

New World Artifacts a collection of lo-fi post-punk clocking in at 30 minutes, underscored with subtle pop melodies and structures but never far away from bouts of anarchic no-wave dissonance. Here, Unschooling claim loud and clear their desire to return to a sound which is less calibrated, less obvious. A 5-piece from France, they emerged with their self-released Defensive Designs cassette in 2019 which made a splash in the French indie scene. 2021’s follow-up Random Acts of Total Control EP solidified their reputation further afield and established them as one of the most exciting new acts.

The band will be touring the UK in support of the record, including a show at The Lexington on November 1st. Tickets on sale now via Dice.
