Veik are dropping a reworking of 'Difficult Machinery' by Sonic Boom

French trio Veik are today announcing the new 'Surrounding Structures' remix 7" and dropping a reworking of 'Difficult Machinery' by Sonic Boom. With the previously released Vanishing Twin remix of 'Honesty (I Don't Wanna Know) on the B-side, the 7" is due out June 9th and limited to 250 copies on heavy clear-blue 7". Veik's Boris Collet says of the new Sonic Boom remix out today: "We were very humbled that Peter (Sonic Boom) accepted to remix our opening track 'Difficult Machinery'. He is a legend for left-field music lovers and an iconoclast. We invited him to go further in the sonic deconstruction of our track, by getting rid of guitars for instance to dive into a cosmic trip he has a knack for doing."

Rooted in the avant-garde sounds of krautrock and no wave and inspired by brutalist and modernist architecture, Veik's 'Surrounding Structures' album was released two years ago this week and is now being revisited via these remixes. Where Sonic Boom deconstructs album-opener 'Difficult Machinery' into a spaced-out, oscillating drone, Vanishing Twin transform the throbbing, discordant proto-punk of 'Honesty (I Don't Wanna Know)' into an even more abrasive and unpredictable beast.
