Veik release Vanishing Twin remix of 'Honesty (I Don't Wanna Know) ahead of UK/FR tour-dates.
Ahead of UK/EU tour dates kicking off this month, Caen, France-based post-punk/krautrock group Veik are today sharing a new remix of their 'Honesty (I Don't Wanna Know)' track courtesy of London avant-garde psych-pop ensemble Vanishing Twin. Originally lifted from Veik's highly-praised debut album 'Surrounding Structures', you can stream the ‘Honesty (I Don’t Wanna Know)’ remix below.
Released via Fuzz Club Records last year, the 'Surrounding Structures; LP traded in a collection of experimental synthesized post-punk rooted in 70s krautrock and 70s no wave and inspired by brutalist and modernist architecture. 'Honesty (I Don't Wanna Kow)' was already a piece of throbbing and discordant proto-punk indebted to Suicide and Alan Vega and on this remix Phil M.F.U of Vanishing Town reworks the track into an even more abrasive and unpredictable beast. Veik said of the remix:
“We love the kind of esoteric symbolism that emanates from Vanishing Twin's music and visual world. We feel connected to the way they mixed traditional instruments like flute and percussion with modern electronic sounds. Also, we might have the same love for collage art and mysterious song names. We opened for them in Paris in 2018 but did not get the chance to talk, so asking them to remix a track from our album was also a way to get to know each other. Exchanging about 'Honesty (I Don't Wanna Know)' with Phil who did the remix was super exciting. He really pushed the song into another dimension. The remix is now a journey through multiple scenes.”
