Leipzig-based project's 2014 debut album gets the Fuzz Club treatment ahead of its long-awaited follow up
Having recently signed to Fuzz Club, we're super excited to today be announcing a vinyl reissue of Leipzig-based project Warm Graves' incredible debut album 'Ships Will Come' alongside a new video for the track 'Penumbra'. Expected to ship December 3rd, the reissue comes on 180g black and orange swirl vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with alternative artwork and printed inner-sleeves. With news on the album's long-awaited follow-up coming very soon (maybe even next-week-soon...), you can stream 'Ships Will Come' and the 'Penumbra' video below and pre-order the vinyl reissue here.
Originally released in 2014, 'Ships Will Come' sees Warm Graves – the moniker of German electronic composer Jonas Wehner – deliver surreal, dream-like atmospherics that are underpinned by repetitive, organic rhythms and echoing vocals, performed by a self-taught choir made up of a collective of friends. Across the seven perfectly structured and interwoven tracks, they create sci-fi-esque soundscapes that manage to be as gorgeously mesmerising and ethereal as they are anthemic and empowering. To celebrate the reissue, the nine-minute work 'Penumbra' is being revisited with a brand new video made using footage recorded by onboard cameras from NASA's Apollo missions.
In the years following the release of Ships Will Come, Warm Graves soon found themselves touring with the likes of Exploded View and Moon Duo and sharing stages with The Soft Moon, Crystal Stilts, Efterklang and Moonface, among many others. As well as headline tours around Europe of their own, they’ve also appeared at such international festivals as The Great Escape, ATP, Iceland Airwaves, Roskilde and Eindhoven Psych Lab. With the reissue of 'Ships Will Come', a new live band in tow and album #2 ready to go, Warm Graves are well and truly back and ready to pick up where they left off.
