Baby Cool announces sophomore album 'Infinity Baby' out June 5th and shares video for 'Everything'
Baby Cool (AKA Grace Cuell) has given us ‘Everything’. It’s the first taste of her upcoming sophomore album Infinity Baby, also announced today, out June 5 via Bad Vibrations in Europe and Greenway Records in North America. ‘Everything’ is a hand-clapping, mind-bending retro trip through existential contemplation, accompanied by a full length music video. “This song embodies the desperation that comes from trying to squeeze meaning from every moment… the way that a relentless pursuit for meaning can be an intoxicating and uprooting practice.” Cool muses.
With nods to psych/indie-rock acts like Babe Rainbow, Connan Mockasin and Oracle Sisters, the track’s percussion charges at you, while Cool’s soft and sultry vocals offer a comforting caress. It’s a reminder of life’s push and pull; noise vs. silence; emptiness vs. significance.
“There’s something seductive about believing that every feeling is a sign, every message carries hidden weight, every silence is trying to tell you something. The verses sit in that space — reaching for balance, listening for silence — trying to locate some steady ground. But the chorus keeps asking the same question: are my feet on the ground? It’s a small reality check in the middle of all that searching.”
Where her debut body of work Earthling on the Road to Self Love felt almost whimsical in its search for meaning, upcoming album Infinity Baby is more grounded and honest. The songs move through desire, cynicism, devotion and surrender, sometimes defeat, but always circle back to a kind of hope. It’s a record about patterns: the ones we inherit, the ones we repeat, and the ones we choose to keep.
