Citizen Above Suspicion — As Above So Below

Citizen Above Suspicion announce new album 'As Above So Below' out Feb 26th and share lead single 'Failure'

Citizen Above Suspicion announce their new album ‘As Above So Below’, due for release February 26th 2027 via Fuzz Club, and share lead single ‘Failure’, out today Pre-order on vinyl in the Fuzz Club Stores.

‘As Above So Below’ is the abrasive, melancholic and cavernous new album from London trio Citizen Above Suspicion. Built from driving repetition, dense feedback and an uncompromising DIY approach, it occupies a space where New Wave song structures collide with the texture and intensity of heavy psych and shoegaze. The result is loud and immersive, balancing melody and dissonance, atmosphere and confrontation.

The album was made across several months, with the band writing and recording simultaneously. Drums were tracked in their Hackney practice space, while the remaining parts were built and reshaped in Baptiste’s home studio, where his experience making electronic music informed an unconventional, fragment-based workflow. Self-production gave the band room to experiment freely, from reworking song structures to spending whole days exploring combinations of effects pedals. Many of those pedals were made by Baptiste himself through his work with Rainger Fx and Audio Error.

‘As Above So Below’ is a record made through persistence and resourcefulness. From recording and mixing to artwork, videos and merchandise, Citizen Above Suspicion have kept the entire process DIY, turning limited means into creative freedom. “We care more about feelings, textures, and intensity,” they say - and that principle runs through every distorted, shadowy and hypnotic corner of the album.
