Regressive Left share new single "The Wrong Side Of History''

Regressive Left share new single "The Wrong Side Of History". Debut EP "On The Wrong Side Of History" out July 15th via Bad Vibrations Records.

The much-tipped Regressive Left return today with the excellent "The Wrong Side Of History", the second single and (near) title track to their debut EP "On The Wrong Side Of History" coming July 15th via new London tastemakers Bad Vibrations. Stream the single below and pre-order the LP here.

The Luton trio's earworm of a new single is an extended, hypnotic workout, an original that locks in so tightly to its cyclical synth motif that it already sounds like you could be listening to its remix. Infectious, motorik repetition is paired to deadpan lyrics that poke fun at a certain kind of individual in the here and now:

“I started writing it years ago,” says Simon Tyrie, the band's frontman: “It was more of a basic spoken word piece from a place of anger and bitterness. Over time it became more and more tongue in cheek, until it became something to dance to.

"What we wanted to highlight is that the subject of the story - your stereotypical sensationalist, controversialist white guy - is lamenting their fall from grace from a position of power – these people rule the world right now and they want us to feel sorry for them! But it’s because they know their time is running out."

Recent festival shows at the likes of Wide Awake, Great Escape and Best Kept Secret have seen sizeable numbers turning up for the band as word continues to spread on the strength of their live shows.

Earlier in the year the three-piece also toured in support of their friends BODEGA and Folly Group, and September will see their first ever headlining dates.
