New remix EP features reworkings of 'Flowing Fades' tracks by Peaking Lights, Theo Kottis, The KVB and Modri
Saccades (the solo project of The KVB’s Nicholas Wood) is today sharing a new EP made up of remixes of tracks from his latest album ‘Flowing Fades’ as well as a video for a new The KVB remix of ‘Islands Past’. Originally released in April this year via Fuzz Club the escapist psychedelic synth-pop of ‘Flowing Fades’ – the Manchester-based artist’s second solo album under the Saccades moniker – is reimagined here by the likes of Peaking Lights, Theo Kottis, The KVB and Modri. Arriving ahead of Saccades’ first ever UK tour-dates in support of the new LP which kick off next week, you can stream the remix EP and ‘Islands Past (The KVB Late Night Remix)’ video below. ‘Heat’ already saw Saccades’ breezy psych-pop infused with a euphoric house energy but Scottish DJ and producer Theo Kottis (DGTL Records) turns the track into something even more electrifying and hedonistic on his remix. Elsewhere, Amsterdam via Los Angeles duo Peaking Lights (Dekmantel / Mexican Summer) transform ‘Lady Blue’ into a spaced-out hypnotic dub and Nottingham-based producer/DJ Modri (Skint Records / BMG) rewires title-track ‘Flowing Fades’ as a club-ready Italo disco banger.
The ‘Flowing Fades Remixes’ EP also includes two remixes from The KVB, the Invada Records-signed duo that Wood makes up one half of alongside his wife Kat Day. ‘Like Everyday’ is reworked to channel a deep house via new wave sound and newly released today, alongside an accompanying music video, is a remix of album-opener ‘Islands Past’. On The KVB’s ‘Islands Past’ remix, Wood says: "This is quite different from our usual remixes as The KVB, it has an almost tropical, sun-kissed vibe to it. We wanted to really stretch out the song, as we feel it has the kind of groove that could go on forever - perfect for a long, lazy summer night."
